Technical writing vs Content writing

There are a lot of people who do not know the basic difference between content writing and technical writing.

Let me tell you very frankly there is not much of a difference. To be successful in any of these profiles you need to be good with written English, this is the basic. If you choose content writing as you’re filed, then its going to be really easy as all you would have to do is write in a particular topic. Do a little research over the internet and you are good to go, you can write whatever you want and express yourself.

Technical Writing: On the other hand, if I talk about Technical writing, you have to be tech savvy. You need to know the market; you need to know the product that you are writing about.

So in general technical writing is a part of content writing, it just that for technical writing you need to know about the product/service and having a technical background helps. It is not necessary to have a degree in the technical field, you can just be a technology enthusiast.

The best part about this filed is that, you can do it on your own terms. If you are freelancing from your home you have the liberty to work whenever and where ever you want. You are not bound to spend 7-8 hours in the office every day. You can work in the morning or late at night. So YOU are YOUR OWN BOSS.

I know a lot of you are really skeptical about these online writing jobs and at the beginning so was I. It is really difficult to trust online websites. That is the reason, I am not telling you to enroll on every website online. There are a few websites that are really good and have been in this industry for a long time. Like Freelancer.com (previously know as getafreelancer.com) is a really good website.

So is this website legit ?

Yes, completely. This is one of the best places to get online business and definitely the easiest. If you start on this website you will see that there are a lot of people registered on it. After enrolling I would recommend that you prepare a few samples of your work so that if anyone asks for it you can.

The more work you do the more reviews you will get. This might sound really easy and trust me when I say it is. There is just one thing, it needs a lot of time and dedication. You have to be sure to put in a lot of time, only then you will be able to see results.

There is another problem, if you are looking for Technical writing jobs, you will find them, but all the people that hire and give you a good price are from US or other parts of the world. So you would have to set your time according to that.
